SLP BOOSTS OFFICERS’ WELFARE WITH MEDICAL SUPPLIES FOR SOUTH-EASTERN REGIONS

The Sierra Leone Police Medical Services has provided a consignment of medical supplies to Regional Police Commanders in the South-Eastern Regions as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare and operational readiness of police personnel.

Presenting the items, the Deputy Director and Medical Superintendent, ASP Dr John M. Konteh, stated that the initiative reflects the vision of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. William Fayia Sellu, to prioritise the health and well-being of officers. He noted that a healthy workforce is better equipped to serve and protect the public effectively.

Receiving the supplies on behalf of their respective regions, the Eastern Regional Commander, ACP Joe Kamanda Bongay, and the Southern Regional Commander, AIG Andrew Mustapha Kamara, expressed their appreciation to the Inspector General of Police for the support. They described the gesture as a timely intervention that would boost officers’ morale, resilience, and capacity to perform their duties effectively.

The donation underscores the commitment of the Sierra Leone Police leadership to ensuring that personnel have access to essential healthcare support, recognising that effective policing begins with the welfare and well-being of its officers.
